Once the Department of Public Safety accepts the affidavit, a copy of the affidavit, marked "Accepted" will be delivered to your home. You will be provided with the DPS authorization number. At this point the parent(s) may then begin the Oklahoma Drivers Education Online course.
In order to receive your driver's license you are required to receive 55 hours of behind-the-wheel training with your parent(s) or guardian. These hours are incorporated in the Oklahoma Drivers Education Online course.
You will need to carry the accepted affidavit form in the vehicle whenever you are driving. All behind-the-wheel training must be conducted under the supervision and instruction of a parent instructor accepted by the Department.
Behind the wheel is not counted until you obtain a permit. YOU MUST OBTAIN A PERMIT BEFORE COMPLETING THIS COURSE; however, you should wait until Unit 5 (when the student actually begins driving) to obtain a permit because you will be more prepared to take the permit test.
A completion certificate shall be provided by and issued by the Oklahoma Teen driver education to each student upon the successful completion of course work (both classroom and behind the wheel). |
